St. Joseph's Health Care Geriatric Refresher Day

St. Joseph's Health Care has been hosting their Geriatric Refresher Day at the LCC for the last 5 years.  Their numbers have increased steadily over the years from 400 to 500 delegates in 2011.  This one day meeting offers healthcare professionals working in geriatric medicine, continuing medical education by offering a number of workshops throughout the day.  Also associated with the program is a tradeshow for suppliers to display their latest medical technology, pharmaceutical products, healthcare equipment and senior homecare agencies.

As conference chair of the University of Western Ontario's Geriatric Refresher Day, I would like to thank you once again, for helping us host yet another successful event. Attendance at Refresher Day has continued to grow since moving to the London Convention Centre. In 2009 we attracted more than 480 attendees including nurses, nurse practitioners, specialists, family doctors, medical students, occupational and physical therapists, social workers and pharmacists.

Each year we receive many compliments from attendees on our choice of venue. Participants enjoy the cleanliness, brightness and spaciousness of the venue. The nutrition breaks and meals are plentiful with many selections including vegetarian options. Restrooms are clean and easily accessible. Breakout rooms are conveniently located and well marked.

As a conference planner, I would also like to compliment you and your staff. You have been accessible, flexible and creative in helping to meet the needs of our event. Your expertise in event planning has been most helpful in helping us to determine room layout and seating options. Furthermore, being able to contract the onsite AV technicians has been very convenient.

We look forward to another successful event this spring at the London Convention Centre.
